Shadow Shot Sunday

Another forbidden shot (we were about
to come in for a landing). Sorry—not.
This is the Unisphere , which has
been here since the 1964 World's Fair.

Asia?

No, Flushing—which is in the borough of Queens.
Used to live there and still go back to see friends
and eat the best dim sum.  Flushing was the site
of two World Fairs ('39–'40 and '64–'65) and is
home to Shea Stadium, where the Mets play.
Currently it's also known for having the largest
concentration of Asian-Americans—99% of the
Asian-Americans who live in Queens live here.

Gung hei, May & Eddie!

Okay, it's not the best picture and I don't
know May and Eddie, but I couldn't resist. Had
some fabulous dim sum at this place today,
and the sign was still there from M and E's
wedding yesterday. I heard that tens of
thousands of Chinese couples wanted
to get married on 8/8/08.
