abc Wednesday—S is for "surfers"

It's just about that time of year again—
time to head out to Montauk, lounge on
the beach, and watch other (okay, younger)
people risk drowning or a concussion!

You can't really tell, but this was
some serious storm surf (the best
kind if you ask me). Took this shot
off Montauk, at the very tippy tip
of Long Island. Gonna miss this 'til
next summer!

Surf's up!

We've been having some seriously lousy
weather around here. But these surfer
chicks out in Montauk were undeterred.
Neither fog nor rain nor cold cold water . . .

This is a famous surfers' beach out in Montauk.

One of my brothers used to literally live on this beach

40 or 50 years ago, before there were so many people

out there and they had to tell them how to 

behave on a surfboard!
