Did you think Santa was hard at work at the North Pole? Me, too—but apparently he prefers to do his list-checking (twice) at the local Starbucks, with a venti latte by his side. [Linking back to Ruby Tuesday and Our World Tuesday.] |

So long, Santa
![]() |
It's finally (past) time to pack up all the Christmas things. This Santa was handmade and hand-painted and signed by someone named Fran (I think) Deckel (I think), on Cape Cod. Was able to find precisely nothing on the Internet, so suffice it to say that this makes me very happy for a month or so each year and I hate to put it away. ABC Wednesday—X is for "Xmas"
![]() |
Too easy, perhaps—but this is my 14th round of X (and the 4th "Xmas," I have to admit). I really am going to miss it when it ends in a couple of rounds, though—hard to imagine Wednesday without the ABCs. [To see more ABC Wednesday posts, go here.] |

ABC Wednesday—X is for "Xmas"
| Yesterday I showed you some Parisian window dresser's version of Santa. Now here's my idea of a real Santa (though some small children did cry when they were parked on his lap). {BTW, I've used this X word in a previous Christmastime post—and explained why I think "Xmas" is okay.} Hope all of you who are celebrating today are having a wonderful holiday! Ho! Ho! Ho!
![]() |
| Santa and his elves (?) made an appearance in of the Prada-themed windows of Printemps, in Paris. Tonight, though, he'll trade that snazzy red leather suit for something a little cozier, fill those Prada trunks with toys for good girls and boys, and take off in a sleigh drawn by eight reindeer . . . or so I've been told. photo Hunter — "jiggly"

Should have shot the last batch of
Jell-O I made! But since I didn't . . .
The obvious solution would have been to
post a photo of a specific part of my anatomy.
Wait, maybe not. So, before they get put away
today until next year: a selection of Santas
(who, as we all know, "had a broad face
and a round little belly, that shook when he
laughed like a bowl full of jelly").
[See other interpretations of "jiggly" here.]

Ho Ho Ho
Just one of the hundreds of Santas to be
found around the city right now. This one
hangs out on 6th Avenue (aka Avenue of the
Americas, but not by the locals), just
being jolly and posing for pictures.
