The Weekend in Black and White

This statue, in the northeast corner of
the Tuileries, is called Retour de Chasse
(aka Home From the Hunt), sculpted
by Antonin Carlès and completed in 1888.
It depicts a young man returning
from the hunt with a deer that he has killed
with a bow and arrow.

Guess this is also a TBT photo—it was
taken on a gorgeous sunny day
 in Paris last July.  Didn't go for a ride on
the grande roue, though.  Maybe next time . . .

Blue Monday

One of my fave Paris pastimes is to spend a
while watching the little kids with these low-tech,
no-motor, no-remote-control sailing ships.
You can rent them to sail in the pond in the Tuileries ...

and also in the Jardin du Luxembourg.
