They've wrapped the entire façade of
this building on 57th Street so
we can all see what the finished product
will look like.  I'm thinking it
probably won't be purple though.

ABC Wednesday—B is for "Bill Cunningham"

Those young women were there for the same
reason I was: to pay homage and snap
a picture for posterity of the sign the city placed
at the corner of 5th Avenue and 57th Street.
 Bill Cunningham was the New York Times's
"roving fashion photographer" and this corner was
one of his favorite spots for catching candid shots of
NYC's fashionable women.  His photos could be
seen in the Sunday Times Style section every week.
He will be missed!
