    There are no lamps in the Piazza. Your lamps are in the Piazzetta. I've been trying (unsuccessfully) to find out when the lamps were removed. In the film 'Death in Venice', Dirk Bogarde stands near a lamppost in the Piazza at a time (when the film/movie was made) when they had been removed. I was amazed at the attention to detail. Very few people would have noticed if they had shown the Piazza with no lampposts in it.
