Shadow Shot Sunday

This is one of a pair of pretty cherry trees that
bookend my building.  Last fall we had to
do some major excavating around this one and
spent several thousand dollars to do it in such a way
that we wouldn't lose the tree.  Money well spent, I say!

Thursday Challenge: Home

Home is where the cats are—and Stubby
likes to make himself at home whenever I'm
trying to work on the computer—he's
giving me that look because he thinks I'm
about to make him move (as if to say, "Don't even
try it, lady!"). I let him stay, but only because
he wasn't actually lying ON the keyboard—for a change.

Shadow Shot Sunday

Sometimes you just don't have the
time to venture too far afield.  Today, I didn't
make it any farther than this corner
of my own living room!  The Maxfield Parrish
belonged to my grandfather (who worked
all his life for the railroad); it was framed with
wood molding salvaged from an old railway car.
